Professional Background
Mr. Shearer is a Partner at Adams Capital, LLC. He has practiced business valuation services with Adams Capital since 2006 and has experience in the valuation of privately held businesses, tangible and intangible property valuation for mergers and acquisitions, transfer pricing, stock option and warrant valuation, fairness opinions, quantification of discounts for lack of marketability, real options analysis, and Monte Carlo simulations.

Mr. Shearer’s industry experience includes banking, distribution, foods, hotels, hospitals, information technology, logistics, manufacturing, oil and gas services, publishing, real estate, telecommunications, and textiles.

While with Adams Capital, Mr. Shearer has performed and managed valuations for tax reporting and financial reporting purposes considering both the fair market value and fair value standards. In addition to privately held company valuations, these engagements include purchase price allocations,
intangible asset and goodwill impairments, long-lived asset impairments, derivative valuation, and stock option compensation.

Mr. Shearer also works to resolve shareholder disputes related to valuation issues which may arise from shareholder buyouts or divorce. These engagements require careful consideration of the marketability and control characteristics of the subject interest as well as additional factors such as personal goodwill value.
